Horne Creek Farm enables visitors to experience farm life in North Carolina's northwestern Piedmont circa 1900. The site features the family's original farm house, a tobacco curing barn, a corn crib, adjacent fields under cultivation, and even a heritage apple orchard. Through programs ranging from old fashioned ice cream socials to an annual corn shucking frolic, Horne Creek Living Historical Farm provides a unique opportunity to learn about our rural past.

At Adams' 40-acre farm, enjoy hayrides, Amish-built carriage rides, stagecoach rides, a petting zoo and walking trails along the banks of the Rocky River. Also, carriage rides for weddings are available. The Adams provide barbecue cookouts, bonfire wiener roasts and camping.

This working, water-powered grist mill with the sights and smells of another era is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers a gift shop with a wide variety of stone ground meals, honey, ham and North Carolina pottery and crafts.

    See firsthand what life was like in a Carolina cotton mill village where the company owned the town and the people felt like "one big family." Early 1900s artifacts and rare photographs give a glimpse of the textile industry, which helped create the New South. Located in the historic Zachary House, home to former mill managers. Firefighter's Museum also on site.

    "Reliving the American Way of Life" Cedarock Historical Farm is the original site of the Garrett farm dating back to 1830. Buildings have been restored to their original use. Livestock on the farm include sheep, goats, dairy and beef cattle, and a team of draft mules. Demonstrations on farming techniques used at the turn of the century are available.
